Pretty good parka

I switched from my fall jacket to my winter coat today, and boy is it comfortable. No more freezing face, no more inadequate pockets bulging to hold a toque and gloves. I figure that maybe it looks a little stupid, especially indoors, but my fall jacket drew a lot of unwanted attention too. People see a Discovery Channel leather jacket and they want to talk to you about it. Now I'm in my soft brown ski jacket and feelin' fine. I even put the hood up against the wind today. I plan on wearing it until about March.

I've always cared more about being warm in winter than looking good. Kids made fun of me in high school when I was bundled up in coat and scarves and mittens and hat and they were running around with their coats undone but I didn't care at all because I was warm and they weren't. HA! The Fools. I'm still fond of the mulitple scarf technique, and layering gloves. It's not always wise to wear mascara in the winter.

Egads I hate the way mascara freezes! I like being warm...I have awesome snow pants and big honkin' boots (rated to -75) and long fuzzy scarf (and toque and mitts) and I looooove them. Mmmmm...warm n' cozy! Astrocricket should get himself a nice fuzzy scarf...help to keep him warm...

"I hate the way mascara freezes!"

It freezes? Huh. I would have guessed it would run. When I have my collar up or a scarf on, my face gets wet from condensation from my breath.

"Astrocricket should get himself a nice fuzzy scarf..."

Actually, Sherry got me a very nice scarf for Christmas last year. It's blue and grey, sort of.
